About Me

I’ve lived in Belmont for 25 years and Belmont’s schools have played a fundamental role in my family for all of those years.

All our children attended Belmont Public Schools, and we currently have grandchildren at all levels in the Belmont Public Schools – including pre-kindergarten, elementary, upper elementary, middle school, and high school.

Between my children and grandchildren, we've had students in every one of the Belmont Schools:

  • Burbank

  • Butler

  • Wellington

  • Winn Brook

  • Chenery – the old Chenery Middle School, the new Chenery Middle School, the Chenery Upper Elementary School

  • the Middle School – at Chenery, the old High School, and the new High School

  • the High School – both old and new

I have been involved in educational instruction for many years:

  • Assisted our children during their formal education

  • PhD in economics from MIT

  • Taught undergraduate and graduate courses at MIT and Tufts University

  • Taught math courses to post-high school students preparing for college as a volunteer.

Engaging in community service has always been part of my life:

  • Member of the Warrant Committee, including the Education Subcommittee

  • BYBA League Coordinator

  • Belmont Soccer Assistant Coach

  • Director of an annual Serv-a-thon at a high school in another school district

In my professional life, I'm an economist. I regularly help clients in legal proceedings by:

  • analyzing data to drive decision making

  • applying cost-benefit analysis

  • creating and evaluating potential solutions to complex problems

  • using finance and economics to see what organizations can do to grow, adapt, and improve

  • working in collaborative teams.

Our family has benefited tremendously from the Belmont Public Schools. I want to keep that tradition of excellence going forward.
